Zusammenfassung

Eine psychiatrische Behandlung basiert, sofern sie nach einer anerkannte Methode vorgeht, auf der Kenntnis des aktuellen Befundes und der Vorgeschichte des jeweiligen Patienten. Sie wird als psychiatrische Untersuchung bezeichnet. Dieses Vorgehen hat 2 Bestandteile, auf die in diesem Kapitel näher einzugehen sein wird: die Erhebung der Anamnese und die Untersuchung des psychischen Zustands. Jede medizinische Untersuchung kann von dem betroffenen Patienten als unangenehm empfunden werden; die psychiatrische Untersuchung bildet dabei keine Ausnahme. Sie ist zudem zeitaufwendig, so daß bei der Durchführung im Einzelnen das jeweilige Ziel im Auge behalten werden sollte. Ebenso ist es wichtig, im voraus das Einverständnis des Patienten einzuholen und ihm das Vorgehen sowie die dahinterstehende Absicht zu erläutern. Die mehrfache Untersuchung eines Patienten durch verschiedene Mitarbeiter eines Teams sollte vermieden werden, da dies für den Patienten unangenehm ist und so den Wert der Vorgehensweise eher unterminiert.
