Zusammenfassung
Orale Gesundheitsvorsorge sollte ein integrierter Bestandteil der Gesamtvorsorge bei HIV-infizierten Patienten und AIDS-Kranken sein. Eine der ersten Beobachtungen bei AIDS-Patienten in den frühen achtziger Jahren war die orale Candidiasis [4], bald darauf wurden die orale Haar-Leukoplakie und später HIV-assoziierte Parodontalerkrankungen beschrieben [23,24]. Kaum eine andere Erkrankung ist mit einem so breiten Spektrum an oralen Manifestationen verbunden wie die HIV-Infektion. Nicht wenige dieser Manifestationen können schon in frühen Stadien der HIV-Infektion auftreten, so daß deren Diagnose auch in Hinblick auf die Erkennung einer HIV-Infektion eine nicht unwesentliche Bedeutung zukommt. Die oralen Läsionen können häufig allein durch die rein klinische Untersuchung diagnostiziert werden. Erscheinungsformen wie die orale Candidiasis oder die Haar-Leukoplakie sind in der AIDS-Klassifíkation enthalten und können zur Bestimmung der Krankheitsstadien sowie zur prognostischen Beurteilung beitragen. Weiterhin können sie Anfangsoder Endpunkte einer Therapie sein [6].
