Abstract
Central results of the Kyoto Protocol are the agreement on a quantified emission limitation of global greenhouse gases (-5.2% in the years 2008 to 2012 compared to 1990), the allocation of the reduction target to the industrialized countries which commit themselves to comply with an emission budget (Annex I States), as well as the admission of flexible market-economy instruments for reaching the target.
