Zusammenfassung

Wer als Arzt, Ärztin, Krankenschwester, Hebamme, Pfleger oder als Mitglied eines anderen Gesundheitsberufs für einige Jahre in einem Land der Dritten Welt tätig wird, wechselt in einschneidender Weise sein berufliches und privates Umfeld. Vertraute berufliche Selbstverständlichkeiten werden in Frage gestellt und/oder durch neue Einsichten und Kenntnisse, aber auch durch vielschichtige Sachzwänge verändert. Neue Prioritäten ergeben sich. Diese Infragestellung hält bis über die Rückkehr hinaus an. Nicht nur das eigene Berufsbild, auch die eigenen Wertvorstellungen, nicht nur auf den Beruf bezogen, werden einer Revision unterzogen.
