Zusammenfassung
Was wir unter Motivation und Emotion verstehen, ist in der Alltagssprache unproblematisch. Jedes Signal aus der Umwelt hat für uns eine objektive, auf den Informationsgehalt des Sinneseindruckes bezogene Komponente und eine subjektive, auf unseren Zustand bezogene, eben die motivierende und die emotionale Komponente. Da Motivation und Emotion den subjektiven Zustand des wahrnehmenden Subjekts betreffen, ist eine klare wissenschaftliche Definition schwierig. Dies führte zu großen Hindernissen bei der Erforschung der neurobiologischen Grundlagen von Emotion und Motivation.
