Zusammenfassung
Reaktionen auf mechanische Kräfte sind sehr ursprüngliche Leistungen lebender Zellen [4]. Bereits die Regelung des Volumens einer Zelle geschieht durch mechanosensitive („dehnungssensi- tive“) Ionenkanäle [42]. Die Berührung einzelliger Organismen, wie z.B. eines Paramecium, führt zur Öffnung mechanosensitiver Ionenkanäle, welche die Bewegungsrichtung der Zelle beeinflussen. Auch nichtsensorische Funktionen mancher Zelltypen höherer Organismen werden durch eine eigene Mechanosensitivität dieser Zellen gesteuert: Kon- traktionen glatter Muskelzellen und die Formbildungsaktivität von Knochenzellen werden durch Dehnungsreize ausgelöst, Schlagreaktionen der Zilien von Flimmerepithelien durch passive Auslenkung dieser Zillien.
