Zusammenfassung
Der Morbus Hodgkin ist eine maligne Erkrankung des lymphatischen Systems. Die Inzidenz der Erkrankung wird in Deutschland mit ca. drei Erkrankungen/100.000/Jahr angegeben. Es findet sich eine zweigipflige Altersverteilung mit einem 1. größeren Erkrankungsgipfel im 3. Lebensjahrzehnt und einem 2. kleineren um das 6. Lebensjahrzehnt. Während um das 3. Lebensjahrzehnt die Geschlechter in gleichem Maße betroffen sind, erkranken im höheren Alter häufiger Männer. Unklar ist, ob das biologische und klinische Verhalten der Erkrankung in höherem Lebensalter anders ist. Dass die Erkrankung im höheren Lebensalter mit einer ungüstigeren Histologie sowie einer schlechteren Prognose vergesellschaftet ist steht dagegen fest.
