Zusammenfassung
Alkohol und alkoholische Getränke beeinflussen auf vielfältige Weise die Funktion des Ösophagus beim gesunden und alkoholkranken Menschen. Viele dieser Wirkungen sind reversibel, wie z. B. die alkoholassoziierten Motilitätsstörungen und die Refluxkrankheit. Die Refluxkrankheit und das Ösophaguskarzinom (Plattenepithelkarzinom) kommen bei Alkoholkranken statistisch signiflkant häuflger vor. Selbst moderater Alkoholkonsum geht mit einem 2fach höheren Risiko und exzessiver Alkoholkonsum sogar mit einem mehr als 40- bis 80fach höheren Risiko einher, ein Ösophaguskarzinom zu entwickeln.
