Abstract

With the introduction of CT there has been a large progress in radiotherapy treatment planning. On one hand the localisation of target volumes and critical organs have been improved tremendously with the help of CT. On the other hand, dose calculation algorithms have been developed which allow to calculate twodimensional or even threedimensional dose distribution on the basis of volumetric CT data with improved accuracy [1].
