Abstract

An NMR imaging method has recently been developed for measuring the magnetic susceptibility within the human body. The magnetic susceptibility of a patient varies with position, depending on the magnetic properties of the tissue chemistry. This measurement has been developed as an extension of methods which use NMR to measure fat, water, and chemical shift (for protons) in the body.
