Abstract

Well-known, although not generally recognised is the fact that in the health care system of the population the basic health care services form the bases where people usually first meet the physician and where the service itself is the closest to the people. Its characteristics are the following: primariness, continuity, direct contact with the population and an openness to receive (although not to solve) the environmental, welfare and social problems.
