Toward a More Detailed Understanding of Self-Organizing Processes in Psychotherapy

  • Chapter
Self-Organization in Psychotherapy

Part of the book series: Recent Research in Psychology ((PSYCHOLOGY))

Abstract

The basic aim of the approach proposed in this chapter is to further the understanding of psychotherapy as a self-organizing process and to make the psychotherapeutic process amenable to research in the new cognitive science paradigm of connectionism. Two models which are intended as a theoretical framework for the detailed investigation of the client’s change process will be sketched out.

I would like to thank Thomas Rothenfluh for his continuous support and for his comments on an earlier draft of this text.
