Abstract
Wedge excision of an ear lesion and cancers of the ear can result in notch deformity of the helical rim. Such deformity is well accepted in majority of cases and can be hidden behind the longer hair, but in some cases, it leads to patient dissatisfaction. Application of Z-plasty [1] in these instances can effectively prevent helical rim notch deformity, and this chapter will illustrate this technique. The authors discuss the technique of Z-plasty.
