Abstract
Balanced otoplasty involves reducing the upper third, middle third, and lower third of the ears in proportionate measure to create an aesthetically pleasing result. This chapter focuses also on aesthetic priorities when strategizing on cosmetic ear surgery so that the surgeon can achieve optimal outcomes. A step-by-step approach is outlined along with improved patient communication to establish appropriate expectations that can minimize patient dissatisfaction afterward.
