Advanced Cosmetic Otoplasty

Abstract

Few if any other features as prominent ears can elicit such negative reactions and lead to serious psychosocial disturbances beginning with childhood. The authors will describe in detail their preferred technique consisting of cartilage incision and folding described. The authors also will briefly summarize in comparison the other techniques used, although this is rather difficult considering their impressive number. Preoperative assessment, the technique of cartilage folding, and possible complications are described.
