Zusammenfassung

Die psychoanalytische Entwicklungstheorie der Adoleszenz ist kein geschlossenes Gebäude, sondern eher eine Ansammlung von theoretischen Ideen und Konzeptionen, die sich in den letzten hundert Jahren seit den historischen Anfängen durch Freud entwickelt haben. Dies hängt auch damit zusammen, dass der Fokus der psychoanalytischen Entwicklungstheorie bis heute auf der frühen Kindheit liegt. Dennoch sind die entstandenen Konzeptionen interessant und nachdenkenswert und sie haben die psychologische Forschung des Jugendalters zu zahlreichen Studien angeregt. Die psychoanalytischen Konzeptionen stehen – und auch dies ist eine bemerkenswerte Anregung – in einem interessanten Kontrast zu gängigen entwicklungspsychologischen Vorstellungen über das Jugendalter.
