Zusammenfassung
Primäre und sekundäre Störungen des Wasser- und Säure-Basen-Haushalts sind bei Kindern häufig. Sie weisen oft eine für das Lebensalter und die Grunderkrankung typische Pathophysiologie auf. Die Abläufe dieser Störungen werden beschrieben und die jeweiligen therapeutischen Strategien abgeleitet. Neben Therapievorschlägen verbessert dieses Buchkapitel auch das Verständnis der Regulationsvorgänge, die bei der Verordnung von (teil)parenteraler Ernährung wichtig sind. Der Inhalt dieses Kapitels sollte darum auch demjenigen nutzen, der üblicherweise nicht mit akut kranken pädiatrischen Patienten konfrontiert wird.
