Polymeric materials made from carbon dioxide

Definition

Carbon dioxide-based polymers are here defined as “a polymer of which carbon dioxide comprises the main chain.” The carbon dioxide incorporated into a polymer main chain forms carbonate/carbamate/urea (Fig. 1, left) or ester (Fig. 1, right) structures.
