Abstract

This study addresses a cloth pattern simulation method on the basis of a 1/f noise, which is used to generate 3D controlled curves for the objective cloth. Users can conveniently get the different cloth pattern effects only by controlling the key points’ positions of the 1/f noise function. The curved surface can be fitted by these 3D controlled curves. For the purpose of enhancing the visualization, a texture mapping method is employed and some improvements are made upon the illumination model. Finally, the experimental results show that the method is efficient and has potential research importance in the cloth texture simulation.
