Zusammenfassung

In der Rückschau auf das letzte Jahrzehnt der psychiatrischen Forschung ergibt sich immer deutlicher eine auffällige Diskrepanz: Auf der einen Seite ist ein rasanter, anhaltender und sich beschleunigender Fortschritt der psychiatrischen Grundlagenforschung zu verzeichnen. »The decade of the brain« hat in keiner anderen Disziplin so tiefgreifende inhaltliche undkonzeptuelle Umwälzungen bewirkt, wie in der Psychiatrie. Dem steht jedoch ein erhebliches Defizit im Bereich der Therapie gegenüber.
