Zusammenfassung

Durch die Erfolge der Herzchirurgie ist die Altersgrenze der Patienten immer weiter ins höhere Alter verschoben worden. Der Anteil der älteren und multimorbiden Patienten ist gewachsen. Damit stellen sich besondere Anforderungen an die prä- und postoperative Betreuung der Patienten. Ziel der kardiologischen Untersuchung vor herzchirurgischen Eingriffen ist es, Strategien zu einer Verminderung des perioperativen Risikos umzusetzen. Darüber hinaus kommt der Risikostratifizierung eine große Bedeutung zu, um die Patienten zu identifizieren, bei denen die Erfolgsaussichten der Operation in einem ungünstigen Verhältnis zu den perioperativen Risiken stehen. Eine weitere wichtige Aufgabe der präoperativen kardiologischen Betreuung und Beurteilung liegt in der Erkennung der Risikopatienten, für die die Wahl des Operationszeitpunktes von prognostischer Bedeutung ist.
