Zusammenfassung
Freie Lappen finden seit 1977 zunehmend Einsatz in der rekonstruktiven Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie und sind heute in vielen Bereichen des Fachgebiets ein fester Bestandteil (Bitter 1980, Reuther u. Steinau 1980, Riediger u. Schmelzle 1986). Im Wesentlichen spielt dabei die Wiederherstellung nach ablativer Tumorchirurgie eine große Rolle, für die sich diese mikrochirurgisch anastomosierten Transplantate durchgesetzt haben. Bei routinemäßigem Einsatz von mikrochirurgischen Transplantaten ist eine Erfolgsrate mit kompletter Einheilung des Lappens zwischen 90–95% zu erwarten (Kroll et al. 1996).
