Abstract
For any information system the quality of the underlying data is crucial for the quality of the information offered to a user. Quality control when uploading data into a portal is essential. In this paper we describe a practical case of how existing business rules are re-engineered into semantically grounded business rules that validate data before being uploaded into a government innovation information portal. Some practical experiences and lessons learnt are presented. The case has shown that not only a substantial gain in engineering time can been achieved but also that the support of related stakeholders is more easily obtainable.
