Zusammenfassung

Für die Problemgruppe suizidaler und sich selbstverletzender Jugendlicher mit zusätzlichen Symptomen einer instabilen Persönlichkeitsstörung vom Borderline-Typ wurde seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre ein im Erwachsenenbereich gut etabliertes psychotherapeutisches Verfahren für diese Jugendlichen adaptiert und evaluiert (Miller 1999). Die dialektisch-behaviorale Therapie (DBT) wurde von Marsha Linehan (Linehan 1993a, b) für chronisch parasuizidale Frauen entwickelt, bei denen zusätzlich die Diagnose einer Borderline-Störung gestellt worden war. Parasuizidal ist hierbei definiert als jegliches akute, intendierte Verhalten, durch das eine physische Schädigung erfolgt, mit oder ohne der Intention zu sterben. DBT ist derzeit das am besten empirisch begründete Therapieverfahren für suizidale Multiproblempatienten, dessen Wirksamkeit in 9 randomisierten Untersuchungen von 4 verschiedenen Arbeitsgruppen nachgewiesen werden konnte (Bohus et al. 2000a; Evans et al. 1999; Lieb et al. 2004; Linehan et al. 1991, 1994; Rathus u. Miller 2002; Vrhovac u. Vrhovac 1995).
