Die Geburtshilfe

Zusammenfassung

Kaum ein anderes medizinisches Thema ist in den letzten Jahrzehnten derart kontrovers diskutiert worden und hat eine solche Veränderung der wissenschaftlichen Betrachtungsweise erlebt wie das Stillen. Noch Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts wurde Stillen als überflüssig und die Formulaernährung der Industrie als weitgehend gleichwertig angesehen. Seit Mitte der 1980-er Jahre kommt es jedoch europaweit zu einer deutlichen Renaissance des Stillens. In aktuellen Umfragen geben die meisten werdenden Mütter an, ihre Kinder stillen zu wollen.
