Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel behandelt die nicht-krankhaften Altersveränderungen des Gehirns (Lipofuszin, Axonauftreibungen, verschiedene Einschlüsse) sowie die Charakteristika der Alzheimer-Krankheit (senile Plaques, tangles, Neuropilfäden, Aß- und tau-Pathologie). Detailliert wird auf neuropathologische Klassifikationen der Alzheimer-Krankheit eingegangen (Braak-Stadien, Thal-Phasen, CERAD-Kriterien, NIH-AA-Kriterien). Ferner werden Sonderformen der Alzheimer-Krankheit und die genetischen Grundlagen besprochen.
