Abstract
Papules and nodules are two basic elementary lesions of the skin that are elevated but do not contain serum or pus; the difference between them depends only on the size. They can both be seen together in many diseases, however, one of them is usually more dominant. In this chapter, diseases that mostly present with papular (<1 cm) lesions will be discussed. Papules on the nose can frequently be observed due to many different causes, predominantly tumors and storage disorders. Some diseases are even named after the strict location of the lesions on the nose. Some of the benign tumoral lesions deserve special attention because they can be the initial sign of a systemic disease or a genodermatose. This relationship is more obvious when multiple papules are seen together. A similar scenario is also observed in basal cell carcinoma.
