Zusammenfassung
Das Gedächtnis ist kein einheitliches System. Die fünf Systeme des menschlichen Langzeitgedächtnisses haben jeweils spezifische neurofunktionelle Grundlagen und sind unterschiedlich anfällig für anatomische und neurochemische Schädigungen des Gehirns. Im Fokus dieses Kapitels stehen die behavioralen und neurofunktionellen Charakteristika des episo disch-autobiografischen Gedächtnisses, das das Erinnern persönlicher Erlebnisse im Kontext der individuellen Lebensgeschichte eines Menschen ermöglicht. Wir geben einen Überblick über Prozesse des Lernens, der Gedächtnisbildung und die wichtigsten Gehirnstrukturen, die im Zusammenhang mit dieser Gedächtnisform relevant sind.
