Summary

Spatial interpolation scheme is efficient to recovery lost blocks with abrupt scene changes or irregular motion, and directional interpolation algorithm has been widely used in video error concealment. An novel error compensation directional interpolation algorithm based on least squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) for video error concealment is proposed. LS-SVM is trained with the directional interpolation error distribution of neighbor block pixels around the missed block. Interpolation error compensation is employed to the interpolated result of missed pixels with LS-SVM estimation to obtain more accuracy estimation result. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is more efficient than the directional interpolation algorithm and linear algorithm.
