Mobile Roboter finden immer weiteren Einsatz für verschiedenartige Erkundungsaufgaben. Diese Systeme werden meist von einem Bediener ferngesteuert. Auf der anderen Scite werden ständig bessere Verfahren entwickelt, um mobile Roboter autonom operieren zu lassen. Die am Fraunhofer IAIS entwickelten Schlüsselkomponenten 3D-Sensorik und Hybrid-Steuerung ermöglichen durch die Verbindung von Autonomie und Tele-Operation die Entwicklung von Erkundungsrobotern, die optimal an ihre Aufgaben angepasst werden können.
