Abstract
In einem hohen Maße bauen unser Wirtschaftssystem und unsere Gesellschaft auf Information und Wissen auf (Donsbach 1998) und damit gewinnt der kompetente und zielführende Umgang mit Informationen zunehmend an Bedeutung: Wer zum richtigen Zeitpunkt die relevanten Informationen parat hat und diese für die Verfolgung und Erreichung seiner Ziele einzusetzen weiß, hat den notwendigen Vorsprung und wird erfolgreich sein. Allerdings hängen das »Gewusst-wie« und das »Gewusst-wo« nicht nur von der Kompetenz und Erfahrenheit der informationsbedürftigen Person ab, sondern für eine gelungene Informationsübermittlung und -nutzung ist auch entscheidend, in welcher Weise die benötigten Informationen dem Nutzer dargeboten und zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Dieses Kapitel stellt psychologische Erkenntnisse zur nutzerorientierten Gestaltung von Informationsangeboten vor.
