Part of the book series: ESO Astrophysics Symposia ((ESO))

Abstract

The recent detection of 4.4 MeV γ-ray lines from the Orion region suggests the presence of an important population of low-energy (~10 MeV) particles in that site. We explore the consequences of that observation for the synthesis of the light elements lithium, berylium and boron (LiBeB).
