Zusammenfassung
Wie in flüssigen und gasförmigen Medien treten auch im festen Material reine Longitudinalwellen auf, also solche Wellen, bei denen Schwingungs- und Ausbreitungs-Richtung zusammenfallen. Man kann sie sich durch Betrachten von zur Ausbreitungsrichtung senkrechten, im Ruhezustand äquidistanten Materialebenen anschaulich machen. Diese Ebenen ändern bei der longitudinalen Wellenbewegung vor allem ihren relativen Abstand untereinander.
