Zusammenfassung

Die hier versammelten Buchbeiträge zeigen, dass Vorurteile gegenüber Mitgliedern fremder sozialer Gruppen und Diskriminierungsphänomene in vielfältigen Kontexten unserer Gesellschaft zu finden sind. Übergriffe gegenüber Migranten und anderen Minoritäten, Rückzug in sogenannte Parallelgesellschaften aus Angst vor Verlust der eigenen Identität, Gefühle der Bedrohung durch Menschen anderer Herkunft, Wahlerfolge von Parteien, deren Programme mehr oder weniger offen die Abwertung und Diskriminierung von „Ausländern“ propagieren, neue Formen der terroristischen Bedrohung, Benachteiligungen und soziale Ausgrenzung aufgrund religiöser oder sexueller Orientierung, offene oder verdeckte Gewalt gegenüber Menschen mit anderem Aussehen und kulturellen Lebensformen, neue und alte Formen des Antisemitismus und Hasskriminalität sind bekannte Erscheinungen in unserer Gesellschaft (vgl. z.B. Bundesministerium des Innern & der Justiz, 2006; Egg, 2006; Heitmeyer, 2009; Klink & Wagner, 1999; van Dick, 2009; Wagner, van Dick & Zick, 2001).
