Zusammenfassung
Der Fortschritt der Wissenschaft hing schon immer von Forschern ab, die über die vorherrschenden Paradigmen hinausdenken konnten. Die Geschichte der Wissenschaft zeigt jedoch, dass der wissenschaftliche Betrieb dazu neigt, solche Denker zu „disziplinieren“, indem sie marginalisiert werden. Etablierte Disziplinen verwenden oft mehr Anstrengung darauf, ihr Paradigma zu verteidigen, als darauf, dessen Grenzen zu überschreiten.
