Zusammenfassung
Eine immer größer werdende Schar praxisorientierter Forschungsinstitute, sogenannte Think Tanks, müssen sich ihren spezifischen Rahmenbedingungen anpassen, um effektiv Einfluss auf die Diskussion und Formulierung deutscher und europäischer Außenpolitik nehmen zu können. Um ihrer politikrelevanten Forschung mehr Gehör zu verschaffen, nehmen Think Tanks unter anderem auch in Zusammenarbeit mit den Medien öffentliche Interpretationsrollen wahr und sorgen für die internationale Vernetzung sowie Weiterbildung (künftiger) außenpolitischer Entscheidungsträger.
