Abstract
Die Marktchancen rechnerunterstützter Systeme sowie der Erfolg ihres Einsatzes hängen neben technischer Qualität, Performance, Preis und Serviceangebot zunehmend davon ab, wie Benutzer bei der Lösung ihrer Aufgaben mit solchen Systemen zurechtkommen. Bisher ist Systementwicklung vorwiegend technologieorientiert, der Schwerpunkt der Planung und Gestaltung von IT-Produkten liegt meist auf der Optimierung des Verhältnisses von Preis und Funktionalität; gute Benutzbarkeit des Rechners als Werkzeug und seine Akzeptanz durch den Benutzer (usability) spielen häufig eine untergeordnete Rolle. Dieser Beitrag beschreibt, welche ergonomischen Aktivitäten im “system life cycle” notwendig sind, um hersteller-, anwender- und benutzergerechte Produkte zu entwickeln.
