Definitions
Fecophobia is the revulsion, or anxiety, experienced by most people when disposing of or managing their own feces (Jenkins 1999). Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of human communities and their living environments (Morris 2007; WHO/UNICEF 2017). It is a multidisciplinary field of inquiry which includes the arts and education approaches (Lienert and Larsen 2006) to prevent disease outbreaks, thus extending and ameliorating quality of life through organized efforts and evidence-based decision-making that engage stakeholders of public and private organizations, community leaders, and individual citizens (Mundahl et al. 2015).
