Abstract
This chapter highlights the accomplishments and historical significance of Frederick Douglass Patterson who served as President of Tuskegee University and established the United Negro College Fund. The chapter also offers a critical analysis of the role Dr. Patterson had in contributing to the growth and development of education in the African American community, especially as it relates to education policies and practices in twentieth-century America.
