The chapter: “Central Greater Caucasus” has been retracted following the conclusion of an investigation by Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The institution concluded that the book contains translated material that substantially overlaps with the following works (amongst others) Khazaradze R, The Pleistocene Glaciation of Caucasus. Metsniereba; 2014. Tbilisi, Georgia; Gobejishvili R, The relief of Georgia. Universali; 2011. Tbilisi, Georgia; Georgian National Atlas (Ed. Ramin Gobejishvili), 2012, Tbilisi, Georgia The institution also raised concerns about authorship and author affiliations within the book and informed us that co-authors Alexander Javakhishvili, Davit Tsereteli, Levan Maruashvili, Ramin Gobejishvili, and Nikoloz Astakhov are deceased.
1. Maka Tsereteli, granddaughter of Davit Tsereteli, George Tvalchrelidze, son of Nikoloz Astakhov, Nestan Maruashvili, daughter of Levan Maruashvili, Nino Machavariani, granddaughter of Alexander Javakhishvili, agree to this retraction.
2. Levan Tielidze does not agree to this retraction.
3. Ramin GobejishviliBejan Tutberidze, Roger Wheate, Vazha Trapaidze, Lia Matchavariani, George Lominadze, Irakli Papashvili, George Kavlashvili, Nino Chikhradze, Zaza Lezhavam, Lasha Asanidze, Kukuri Tsikarishvili, Lela Gadrani, Mariam Tsitsagi, Ramin Gobejishvili, Nikoloz Astakhov, Roman Kumladze, Bezhan (Bejan) Tutberidze, have not responded to any correspondence from the editor/publisher about this retraction.
