Abstract
Dementia has become one of the leading causes of disability in the elderly worldwide. Early detection and intervention through cognitive evaluation, training, and rehabilitation may assist patients with mild cognitive impairment to maintain or even improve their cognitive function. In this chapter, the recording of innovations is attempted such as (a) existing assessments and cognitive training interventions that were modified to be appropriate for mobile platforms, (b) new ones specifically developed for mobile platforms, and (c) new data streams exploited for cognitive training and assessment. These applications can provide results and new data streams that could contribute to the improvement of the health care provided to elderly patients facing cognitive disorders. Moreover, these interventions include increased autonomy, improved social interactions, and subsequent improvement in the quality of daily life. Finally, they can contribute to achieving higher accuracy and thorough measurements of cognitive evaluation in MCI patients.
