Abstract
In screendance, the rich potential of multiscreen presentation formats has in recent years been explored with increasing frequency. In Ireland this embrace has been particularly evident with numerous screendance artists creating works specifically for the gallery using multiscreen arrangements. Performing the Triptych, is a collection of two essays formed from the experience of creating The Dance of Making, a multiscreen film that draws attention to the qualities of movement embodied by a selection of craftsmen from the west of Ireland. This film, a collaboration by the authors of this article, enabled both an examination of the nature of intangible heritage as well as an enquiry into the specific features and opportunities of the multiscreen format.
