Abstract

The proposal aims to convert the two-dimensional drawing of a conventional traffic signal into a three-dimensional simulation called anamorphosis. Preliminary tests were conducted that revealed an indication that perception can be improved. For the tests, two groups of volunteers were used. The first one visualized the traffic signs in a traditional way, while the second visualized the same images, but with the anamorphic signaling, after this initial stage all the participants answered a questionnaire, where it was identified that those of the second group memorized the signaling better. The simulation of three-dimensionality could produce the effect of changing the instinctive behavior of the driver to reduce speed, or simply cause the driver to pay more attention to the front when encountering a 3D object in his way, even for a brief moment and instinctively.
