Abstract

This book has sought to make a critical view of financial sustainability in public administration. In this section, a trip across all chapters included in the book is performed, highlighting the main results of the research undertaken in each one of them. All these chapters make high-quality contributions into financial sustainability research and set the base on which future developments on studies about financial sustainability in public administration could be built. In general, financial sustainability has been identified as a main concern nowadays in public administration. It has made the issuance of different normative requirements to keep public services running in the future and to assure the intergenerational equity concept. Chapters of the book have also identified drivers and risks factors of financial sustainability, which will help public managers and politicians to take appropriated decisions regarding financial sustainability in public administration.
