Abstract
This article presents a survey of the Madhava Mathematics Competition , a recently started Mathematics competition for undergraduate students in India. The competition was started in the academic year 2009–10 and has received a tremendous response in last eight years. It can be seen as an extension of the Olympiad competitions to undergraduate classes. We therefore take a review of Olympiads in India and then discuss the various aspects of this new competition.
