Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an approach to design of the robotic payloads toolbox based on addressing end-user requirements. First, a state of the art in robotic counter-CBRN technologies is presented and the problem statement is defined. The idea of payloads toolbox is then described and set in a global architecture context, related to first-responder systems, other robotised solutions and IT systems. Next, the robot subsystem along with operator’s console and payload are presented. Subsequently, example payload solutions for toolbox are described as the effects of certain research and development activities carried out within national and international R&D projects, in which PIAP has participated. The example solutions are presented to show approach to the problem of remote sampling and identification of the CBRN threats. A summary of the article and overall research conclusions are presented at the end of the paper.
