Abstract
Partial pancreaticoduodenectomy, the Whipple procedure, is the gold standard operation for resection of the head of the pancreas. It is most commonly performed for pancreatic head tumor. This chapter describes indications, essential steps, variations, and complications of this procedure. It provides a detailed template operative note for the procedure.
