Abstract
This chapter introduces a remarkable, 20-year experience bringing together an international group of academic experts, social activists, and advocates with a common mission—promoting peace in the Middle East through joint initiatives addressing humanitarian concerns. The chapter informs about, the knowledge and experience acquired from a concerted, steadfast commitment to address drug use, addiction, and mental health issues in spite of political barriers and reoccurring obstacles.
