Abstract
Many believe that the international space treaties adopted a half century ago are yesterday’s news. Today’s most dynamic of the space entrepreneurs, such as Elon Musk, Paul Allen, Richard Branson, Larry Paige, and Peter Diamandis, look at a technology or a regulation that is five decades old and ask why we should be bound to follow rules from the “stone age.” Those movers and shakers that are revolutionizing the New Space industry and embracing the new disruptive space technologies are focused on the future and not the past.
