Abstract

Jordan is one of the water scarcest countries in the world with the lower jordan river basin constituting an overexploited closed river basin (MWI and GTZ in National water master plan of Jordan, 2004; Venot et al. in Dealing with closed basins: the case of the lower Jordan River Basin. World Water Week, Stockholm, 2006; Wolf et al. in Management of aquifer recharge for sustainability, 2007; Hötzl in Water in the middle east and in north Africa. Springer, Berlin, 2004; Hötzl et al. in The water of the Jordan Valley. Springer, Berlin, 2009).
